An Open Letter to Prospective Students
Dear Prospective Students,
Thank you for considering the Florida Tech Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as the place to pursue your academic career. In preparing to go to college, you are embarking on one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys you will ever experience. College is a place to learn about the world around you, expand your horizons, and discover your passions. Our faculty and staff recognize that choosing the right university is very important and we want to do what we can to help you make that decision. We hope that you will take some time to look over what the MAE Department can offer to help you reach all your academic and career goals.

It is an objective of both the Mechanial and Aerospace Engineering programs to graduate students who are well prepared for an engineering career through their understanding of engineering science fundamentals. The programs have been designed to expose you to the broad range of topics that form the basis of these disciplines, including thermal-fluid sciences, structural mechanics, and dynamical systems. You will find a balanced mix of theory, experiment, computation, and design during your studies which will prepare you for any number of employment opportunities and continued education.This is an exciting time in your life and we want to help you make the most of it now and prepare you for your future.
