Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)
Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV)

It is the intention of the ocean engineering program at Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) to design and develop an inexpensive autonomous oceanographic data acquisition system that is capable of operating at depths to 6000 meters.

More Information

Tuvaaq Tuvaaq out of water MARC 1
Under Ice AUV "Tuvaaq"
This AUV is to be used for sub-ice and open-water data collection in Prudhoe Bay, North Alaska. The vehicle is deployed through a 24 inch hole in 2 meter thick ice and collects continuous data over long distances at different depths, and returns home with that data.
