Program Plan for the Construction Management Area of Specialization
The Construction Management area of specialization is structured to emphasize all aspects of Construction Management. It is a highly flexible, multi-disciplinary program that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a student. With proper selection of electives, students can become well versed in the key areas of project management, law, site planning, statistical concepts to analyze managerial problems, theories and models used to explain the internal dynamics of organizations, processes and techniques used to reinforce leadership skills, techniques and principles to identify customer needs, quality assurance, cost engineering, risk management, queuing theory, forecasting models and much more.
To graduate a student must take 12 hours of required courses, at least 9 hours of elective courses in business, civil engineering or engineering management electives, and at least 6 hours in mathematics and/or operations science courses. This area of specialization does not require a thesis.
