Employment and Internship Data

1. In the last four years (since Spring 1999), 74% of the graduating students received a job offer or admission into graduate school before graduation. Since Fall 1998, when we stated keeping this data, nearly one hundred percent of our graduating students have found jobs or joined graduate school within three months after graduation.
2. Based on data collected from Fall 2001, 63 percent of the Civil Engineering students did an internship before graduating.

Responses from Alumni (17 responses) who Graduated in 1993, 94, 98 and 99

1. 94 % of the alumni respondents stated that they were well prepared compared to their peers.
2. 100 % of the alumni respondents stated that they would recommend Florida Tech’s Civil Engineering program to others. This response indicates that the students are satisfied with their careers and the overall preparation they received at Florida Tech.

Responses from Employers (10 responses) who Hired Florida Tech’s Civil Engineering Students

1. 100 percent of the employer respondents stated that overall Florida Tech Civil Engineering students are good candidates for employment within the company.
2. 100 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students show desire for professional growth and leadership.
3. 90 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students show knowledge of contemporary issues and an awareness of the impact of engineering solutions on the society and the world.
4. 90 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students are well prepared in oral communication skills.
5. 100 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students are well prepared in written communication skills.
6. 100 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students are well prepared and have the ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. 100 percent of the employer respondents stated that compared to others hired for the same work, Florida Tech Civil Engineering students are well prepared in professional ethics.
