Personal

On a personal note Christel has enjoyed working as a leader in the 4H Youth Development Program in her home town of Walden, NY. The 4H Programs are devoted to creating opportunities for youth to develop skills, practical knowledge, and wisdom through observing, doing, and reflecting on experiences. As a parental mentor for the 4H participants, Christel and her husband helped the young adults organize and manage their meetings and annual program of activities. One of her most notable accomplishments was developing a program of Christmas Cheer for a group of underprivileged children living on welfare at a foster home in her town. In addition to mentoring, Christel and her husband served as instructors for seminars and workshops for their local 4H chapter. Some of the interesting subjects she has been involved with include model rocketing, woodworking, textile dying using natural materials, and gardening.
