Chemical Engineering

Program Objectives

The undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering is designed to provide graduates with the skills required to successfully pursue a career in one of the many fields within the chemical engineering profession. To this end, the objectives of the program are:

  1. to provide graduates with the technical skills necessary to pursue a successful career in Chemical Engineering, including appropriate knowledge of mathematics and basic sciences as well as basic principles of engineering science and design.

  2. to provide graduates with the communication skills necessary to pursue a successful career in Chemical Engineering, including those skills needed for both written and oral presentation of technical data.

  3. to provide graduates with an understanding of the non-technical skills required for a successful career in Chemical Engineering, including professional ethical responsibility, adaptation to changing technology, and participation in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
